Checklist of Documents When Buying Used Car

Buying a used car is easier when you keep all documents ready at payment time. When you are
buying a used car from an individual person or from any dealer, There are some important documents
that you must need to transfer on your name. Make sure you have the following documents when
buying a used car.

Checklist of used car documents:

Registration Certificate(RC)

The registration certificate has all the basic details of the vehicle like VIN number, engine number, and
chassis number. It has also the owner details, registration number, color and so on. You will have to
change the ownership in RC with your name.

Insurance

Every car needs vehicle insurance when running on the road. You have to transfer insurance to your
name. You have to get new insurance if it is expired. If the car insurance is expired then it will reduce
the car price.

Road Tax Receipt

The car owner has to pay road text when buying a new car. Make sure road text has been paid by the
first owner and you have to collect the original receipt of it.

Car Purchase Invoice

When you purchase a ner car the dealer will issue an original car purchase invoice. In case buying
used car fro individual person, you have to collect a car sale receipt that signed by the owner of the
car. It will convey that the car sale is complete with payment.

Service Book

The service book has all the history of the vehicle like service schedules, any accident and, etc. if the
the car has completed all serviced then it is batter to buy it.

Dual Fuel Certification

If you are purchasing a dual fuel car then you have to collect a corresponding dual fuel certificate and
the RTO certificate of no-objection from the seller. It will convey that the car is safe with dual fuel.

Form 32 & 35

Form 32 and 35 will be required for cars that had a loan on the vehicle. You have to collect no-objection
certificate of a bank or finance company from the seller, expressing that the loan has been properly paid
to the bank. On the off chance that you are buying the vehicle with a loan, you should get the loan
moved under your name also. You can pay all amounts of the loan to the bank or continue EMIs.
